Policies

 

Class Attire:

Tots through Grade 3:  Any style leotard, tights, pink ballet shoes, black tap shoes, dance bag, hair in ponytail or bun.

 

Grade 4 through 6:  Any style leotard, tights, dance shorts (not gym shorts), dance tops (not t-shirts), pink ballet shoes, black taps, tan jazz shoes, dance bag, hair in ponytail or bun. 

Grade 7-12:  Any style leotard, tights, dance shorts, leggings, dance tops, lyrical turners, black taps, tan jazz shoes, hair secured from face and neck.

 

NO EXCEPTIONS TO STYLE or COLOR of shoes. All shoes may be purchased through the studio. Please label all shoes with your child's name to avoid major mix up of shoes.  Dance shoes should be brought to class in a dance bag.

 

 Proper attire sets the mood for learning.  

 

Attendance:

 All students are expected to attend all of their classes.  No reduction in rate is made for absences.  If it is necessary for a student to be absent, the studio should be notified.

 

Withdrawal:

Please notify the studio by written letter or e-mail before the first of the month if you would like to withdraw from a class or the studio.  If not, you will be held responsible for tuition  Tuition and other fees will continue to be charged until a letter of withdrawal has been received.  NO REFUNDS on costumes or any tuition or other fees will be given.

 

Classroom Etiquette:

1.  Long hair must be pulled back securely.

2.  Proper dance attire.

3.  Proper dance shoes on dance floor.

4.  No food or drinks allowed in studio.

5.  No chewing gum during class.

6.  Be on time.

7.  Restroom visits should be made before  class begins.

8.  Appropriate behavior while on Dance School Premises.

9.  Cell phones should be turned off and stored in dance bags during class.

10.  Respectful behavior towards instructors  and fellow dancers is expected at all times.

 

Recital:

A public exhibition of work covered during  the year is given in May in the form of  a “RECITAL”.   All tuition, costume fees, shoes, picture fees, and  recital fees must be paid in order to participate in the Recital.  The Recital is optional.

 

 

Awards:

 Participation and Perfect Attendance awards will be presented at the last lesson in the studio.  Additional Awards will  be given  to students  who have completed   3,5,7,9,12 years of dancing.  These awards  will be presented at the Dance Recital.

Solo Guidelines

In order to be eligible for a solo, a dancer must meet the following guidelines:

1. Be enrolled in a basic Peggy Grant School of Dance class that offers the ballet, tap, and jazz.

2. Have completed 9 years, 12 years, or be a graduating Senior. 

3. Have been enrolled in the Peggy Grant School of Dance the previous year.

4. If all years were not acquired at the Peggy Grant School of Dance, then proof of years from the previous school or schools will be required. 

5. Submit the Solo Registration Jotform.  Deadline November 1.

6. Pay the $150.00 Solo Fee prior to the choreography.

7. Have the costume choice and payment by December 14.

Solo Expectations:

1. Schedule my solo choreography when the calendar is displayed.

2. Show up for choreography on the expected date and time.

3. Sign up and attend all Mandatory rehearsals. 

4. Practice on my own to improve memory and skills. 

5. Have my solo performance ready March 20.
